When Playwright James Ivory Johnson Sr. Speaks, a casual conversation inevitably turns into a sermon.
As CEO of Ivory St. James Music & Theatrics, which currently put on its own musical productions such as "Is There A Preacher In The House?", "The Missionary Mother's Board", and currently directed, produced, and written, "Ninety-Nine and A Half Just Won't Do."
James has worked on and off broadway with Vy Higgenson, Doris Troy on "Mamma I Wanna Sing". James also worked with Debbie Allen, Howard Hewitt, Tatiana Ali, Sid Burston, Big Mike Brown, Chip Fields, and many more.
Most of James's writing inspiration comes from his life experiences. Born in 1961 via Brooklyn New York. James became known as the Minister of Music. James has been married for over 30 years to Olivia Johnson, with 3 children, James Jr., Jamel & Jade.
James feels that his mission is to keep everyone laughing all the way to heaven because laughter is medicine for the heart.
